The Mar Dels
The Fabulous Mar Dels band was formed in 1982 by Band Leader Doug Allen.  They first played the Belly Up in 1983 when 
Allen offered The Mar Dels band for free on Monday nights!  The Belly Up soon started paying top dollar to The Mar Dels on Monday nights!  The band went on to play every Monday night for the next seven years, with record crowds lined up all the way down the street, and Fire Marshalls checking to make sure that the Belly didn’t go over capacity!
The Mar Dels played opening sets before
dozens of famous groups, including Junior Walker, Ronnie Spector, Johnny Otis, Dick Dale, The Beach Boys, Frankie Avalon, Johnny Rivers, Little Anthony, Gladys Night, and the Diamonds, just to name a few!
The Mar Dels also played for notables, such as President Reagan, George Bush, Mitt Romney, Steve Mnuchin, Marty Passetta, and the Crown Prince of Norway!
The Mar Dels have played at events all over America, and the World, with epic appearances at such places as Radio City Music Hall, performing at the Royal New York Doo-Wop Show, and in Hong Kong on top of Victoria Peak for the 1997 Re-unification with China!
